Technology Center

PCs (Microsoft Windows machines)

In order to use a computer in the Technology Center, patrons can place their name on a waitlist. The sign-up station is located at the entrance to the Technology Center. Please be aware that the system gives a time approximation for the next available computer; computers may become available much sooner than the estimated time frame. Waiting patrons will have 5 minutes to log on to an assigned computer once it becomes available.

Patrons can also reserve one of 24 available PC computers for a specific day and time by contacting us in advance. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes from the original reservation start time.

There is a 1-hour limit for PCs when others are waiting.

1. Microsoft Windows 7
2. Microsoft Office 2007, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
3. Internet Explorer 9.0 and Firefox 8
4. Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0
5. Adobe Reader X
6. CD-RW/DVD drive with burning software
7. USB drive slots
8. All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier (Please see a library staff member to reserve a computer with a scanner.)
9. Memory Card reader slots (Compatible with xD, Micro SD, Compact Flash I/II, SD/MMC +/mini SD, and MS PRO/MS PRO Duo)
10. Other Programs Include: 7-Zip File Manager, Corel WinDVD SD, Nvu Web Authoring Software (similar to Dreamweaver or FrontPage), QuickTime Player, Windows DVD Maker, Windows Media Player, YouTube Downloader and more.
11. All computers have Internet access capabilities.

Printing

1. All computers are connected to a color printer.
2. In order to print in color or black and white, patrons must add money to their library card using our Add Money machine or by seeing a library staff member.
3. Patrons interested in using photo paper or special grade paper must reserve a PC with an attached All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier. Please see a library staff member for details.
4. Printing costs $.10 per page for black and white, $.25 per page for color.

All workstations will be logged off ten minutes before closing.

iMacs (Apple machines)

The iMac computers can be used for various video editing or digital imaging projects.

Reservations

1. Please contact the Technology Center to make a reservation.
2. Patrons can reserve one of 3 available iMac (Apple) computers for a specific day and time. There is a 3-hour limit for iMacs when others are waiting.
3. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes from the original reservation start time.
4. When reserving an iMac, make sure to let us know whether or not instruction is needed. Basic instruction will be provided as time and knowledge permit.
5. Note: All workstations will be logged off ten minutes before closing.

2. Adobe Create Suite 3 (CS3) – includes Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, and Bridge
3. Final Cut Express

6. HP Photosmart c3180 All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier
7. Video to DVD capabilities using an Advanced Digital Video Converter
8. USB drive slots

Printing
